I should be sewing right now. I only have 3 inches left to sew and then the metal parts to put on (aiglets and grommets). so I will finish today. however, someone lost my needle, so I have to find another one to finish sewing. so I will finish in a little bit. Then I need to pack it all up and figure out how much it weighs so I can guestimate shipping.

then I can whip up 25 bags for my niece's b-day. then I can actually breathe because I'm not sure I could finish my dad's chainmail even if I didn't do anything else between now and then. I will try to finish it, but I'm just not sure I have enough rings.

I wish I could work with some of the seamstresses I talk to on the net. I want to learn so much more. I need to start attending SCA meetings.

my family keeps getting things from the incumbent rep from this area telling us not to vote for the contender. I plan on voting for the incumbent, but he's pissing me off with all this crap he keeps sending. we got 3 in one day. I hate politics.

I want to check some prices to see how much it would cost to visit the east coast sometime. I want to go to the national record archives, and I've heard good things about the scenery in states around there.

I think I need more people on my friends list. or friends that post more often. I have too many communities, not enough people. It gets so boring waiting for y'all to post something so that I can be amused for five minutes.

or maybe I should try getting a life.... nah.

so the issue I am currently pressed with is how to do webpage design enough to be able to allow voting, and possibly other cool things for a page I want to do. The problem is, I'm rather lazy even when I'm not occupied with sewing and chainmail projects so I don't feel like sifting through a million tutorials on the web or paying 20 bucks or more for a book that won't help any. So, can anyone tell me where a good tutorial is or a good book to buy?

I really should just save up and shell out the money for a professional page, but I was planning to wait for that until I had a business.

9:06 pm - *jumps around making "squee" noises*
I got the job! I got the job at Blue Cross Blue Shield! ok, technically that is contigent on me passing a drug screening, but unless someone has been slipping something in my water, I think I'm safe on that one. This is so great. It is a nice job, call center. I might have to put up with jerks but at least there are benefits like health insurance and air conditioning and getting paid $4 a hour more than I am now. which means that sometime (hopefully soon) I will be able to afford things like my own house, fabric for all my projects, a scanner and/or a digital camera, vacations.

Plus I'm almost done on the stuff for Feyr. This project has taught me that I am not sewing any type of clothing by hand for anyone but myself and possibly my father, ever again. none of the rest of my family will appreciate it, and I don't like the rest of you that much. :-p

great. someone in Texas won the mega millions last night for 101 million bucks, but it wasn't me. Ticket was bought in carrolton. I suppose I'm not lucky enough for that to have been my dad, he doesn't live far from there.

I didn't realize that Feyr and his girly were going to the TRF so soon. I would have preferred to have their costumes to them by now so that they could be sure that they fit. I am overly worried about that. I also have been overly optimistic about when I would get certain parts done. I will finish the shirt tonight, I will stay up until it is done. tomorrow I am going to sew the sash. most of it will be on machine, I'm debating about hand finishing along the edges to give a crisp look to it. I think I may just iron it. It is silk and I think it will look better without the line of stitches along each edge. Then I just have to finish the bodice for his girly. I would really have preferred to drape it because of the shaping required. I got some stuff so I can try to make sure that it will fit correctly. I guess if not, I won't charge him for it.

Then I get to start sewing little bags for my niece's 2nd birthday party. Then I have to sew two quilts for my mom and sister for christmas. Plus I need to finish my dad's chainmail that he has been waiting on for a very long time. Then I need to sew my bro-in-law, my step mom, my husband and myself costumes for Scarborough.

I need to win the lotto just so I have time to do all my projects, work takes too much time away.

this makes me rather mad. If I thought that they were doing it on purpose, I would be even angrier, but it is bad enough as is. Why you ask? Because people are stupid and after seeing this commercial they will make even more stupid assumptions than they already do. Seeing as very few people have heard of Trichotillomania, but very many people have heard of meth and cocaine, and people already assume that the only cause of repetitive hair pulling is due to cocaine use, this commercial sets the stage for all trichs to be accused of meth use as well. lovely. So the next time I'm stressed out and pull my hair or my eyebrows because of my trich being triggered by stress, I will have the added stress of being accused of drug use. Thank you Partnership for a Drug Free America. now, I wouldn't be even this upset, except that when I tried to post a comment stating that I felt this commercial could cause people to incorrectly acuse trichs of drug use, my comment was eaten by the censors, as was those of many members of a trich support lj community. Apparently, they only want positive comments.

The worst part is that due to there being different subsets of trichs, some people are triggered by seeing other people pull, and seeing the commercial triggers them.

I'm all for a drug free america, but I'm also all for not having unnecessary prejudices against myself and other people that suffer from a disease that we have to fight constant to control.

5:05 pm - Yes, I'm a geek, you can laugh.
I am considering making my own harry potter fanart challenge. The problem with this is that I know approximately nothing about coding. I have thrown together webpages in the past by finding html tutorials on the web and doing a quick study. However, this project would require the ability for visitors to vote for the submission that they like the best. I'd like to be sure that there was no double voting, although that may be solved by another voting form I have seen. The original challenge that I took part in had simple voting where you voted for one entry and input your email address I believe. Someone attempted to revive the challenge and using php in ways that boggle my mind (as all I know about php is that it is called "php") to create a system where entrants could submit their art directly through the website (instead of emailing it in) and then voters could select all the entries they likes (which constituted their "popularity" vote) and then choose from those any they liked for concept, and any they liked for artist merit by selecting one or both of the bullets for each picture. Thereby allowing for multiple voting.

Feyr? if you read this, I need you to measure something for me. get a shirt that fits pretty well, lay it flat and measure the length from the shoulder to the armpit along the arm hole seam. I made the sleeves I thought would fit you well, but now I am worried that it won't allow enough movement in the shoulder.

the silk for Kevin's costume finally came in earlier this week. I have decided not to be too harsh on the company because they didn't charge me any shipping and shipped it to me in less than a week when I had originally opted for the cheapy 4 week shipping time. I am hoping to get everything done by next week. I still need to make the sash and finish the bodice. I should be finishing the shirt today, or at least getting it almost done. I feel like I haven't gotten much done, but I know that I have. the pants are completely finished, the vest is completely finished, the bodice has all the inside seams finished and the shirt is about half finished.

Saw AVP thursday. When the people finally got the film running correctly, it wasn't too bad. I felt it was kind of rushed. They could have stretched it out a bit more. It was only an hour and a half, they could have included some more stuff.

I have been thinking a lot about where my life is headed. basically, no where. If I get the job at Blue Cross Blue Shield, at least I will be making more money and in a better job than what I have, but still not where I was hoping to be. I was hoping to work in a flower shop for 2-5 years, then open my own. I have come to the conclusion that it probably isn't going to happen. Even if I had the money for it, I'm not sure that that's what I want to do anymore. I guess the problem is that I hate making vase arrangements, but that is all people want, because they don't know what kinds of other containers there are because the flower shops don't carry them because they think that people only want vase arrangements.
I was going to do weddings only. I was also going to sell wedding dresses. I bought 3 dresses off of ebay that I was going to sell off-the-rack, I was going to have a section of cheaper off-the-rack dresses. I suppose that I can use those dresses to salvage for fabric and trim. I'd really like to have my own fashion design company right now. That is what I would do if I won the lottery.

My town hosted a debate last night between the people running for the House for this area. I was going to go, but then I didn't.

well, it looks like I may get a job at the Blue Cross Blue Shield call center in waco. Have an interview on Thurs and then I will know. I already have to miss most of work that day because of a doctor appointment, so no prob in getting to the interview.

just in case y'all don't realize how completely pathetic I am, I have gotten in the habit of sitting on the comp, playing spider solitaire or minesweeper, while repeatedly hitting the refresh button on my friends page to see if anyone has posted something new, or made a new comment on a post. Yes, I have no life.

just back from Waco, went to apply at blue cross blue shield as they are hiring for customer service reps. I think I did well on my application, there was a little critical thinking type problem included in it. Then I stopped at the "Central Texas Marketplace" which is really just the new strip mall where everything is moving out to on I-35 and Hwy 6 so I could stop by Sally Beauty Supply. Saw a sign for 75% off clearance at Belk and couldn't stay out, so I spent too much there. Sally's didn't have the dark green eyeshadow I was looking for, but I found a couple of things I decided that I needed.

does anyone know where I may be able to find green eyeshadow? something in the range of kelly green, I have some light greens but I want a truer green.
